Adventure with us as we travel the country in search of history, great scenery, mass quantities of wild life, disc golf courses, microbreweries, fun people and some awesome campgrounds to park our home on wheels. We also hope to do a lot of dispersed camping in the Southwest as well. There will be sunny days and there will be cloudy days but a day without laughter is a day wasted!! ROLL ON!!

Wild Wild West

The wide-open plains of Kansas were sporadically dotted with cattle and the fields of brown sorghum were blowing in the wind. Screw that! Who writes like that🤣🤣

Started this week by heading into Colorado.  Along the way we saw many fields of Sorghum and many cattle ranches. I would have stopped to take a picture of the massive ranch, but it smelled so bad that I may have passed out & died. We ventured on and will save our death story for later. Arrive at a campsite close to my first wild west destination. Pictured below are a few of the beautiful campers at our resort!! We are classy people and just don't camp anywhere.
After seeing this it was cocktail time!  Then this other fabulous trailer pulled in next door and it was cocktail time again. A BBQ Carnival trailer that was twice the size of our and right out our front door.  While this guy was hooking up he left his vodka bottle on the electrical post.  Classy for sure!!

We ventured on to the wild, wild west destination.  Old Bents Fort in middle of nowhere Colorado!  It was a most excellent experience.  I love these old places where they take you back to what they call a simpler life.  Who doesn't want to get scalped or die of dysentery!  All I know is that I could have survived both and been a useful citizen of this fort had I lived back then.   As you may know from past posts, I almost die once a week, but who's to say that I would not have written a death story daily had I lived then.  Anyhow...lots of cool old tool and kitchen stuff.  This was a trading post for furs and has an amazing story.  If you are ever in the area of middle of nowhere Colorado, you should go and see this for yourself.  Enjoy the pictures!!

We stayed in Lamar, CO for a couple of days and did a bit of disc golf/adventuring. Nothing super exciting but we had fun.  While Dick golfed, I ventured off on my own but was first warned by two cute old ladies to watch out for the bugs.   I ignored their warning and set off!  I gotta tell you they were right!  Colorado is full of weird insects. Must be all the pot growing everywhere.  Just the smell in the air is enough to get you high!! Love metal art!!!

Bet you can not guess what this is!!??  I will miss this in the great southwest! Different region different beauty!!
More disc golf and a walk in the park.  Picked up more treasured items to paint and two new feathers.

We went to an old train station and dam near got runned over by this beast!!  It is supper funny how this was a rust bucket with holes all over it and they filled them in with great stuff foamy shit and painted over is.  Needless to say, they need to repaint.  Still a cool contraption and Sheldon Cooper would have loved it!!

After all that super wild west stuff we headed to Pueblo to visit friends.  Camped at a beautiful park and has a great time visiting with them all and got to see the progression of a painting on the side of their building. Pueblo is a pretty cool place. We could see ourselves living in this town someday!  No pictures of town.  Sorry....go visit!

New Mexico was as pretty as ever.  We stayed on some free BLM land for a night and visited with some friend who live there as well. Drank so beer, went to a distillery and a high school soccer game too.  It was a short visit but a good one just the same.

Made it to Tombstone AZ
More fun adventures to post next Sunday!!
