Adventure with us as we travel the country in search of history, great scenery, mass quantities of wild life, disc golf courses, microbreweries, fun people and some awesome campgrounds to park our home on wheels. We also hope to do a lot of dispersed camping in the Southwest as well. There will be sunny days and there will be cloudy days but a day without laughter is a day wasted!! ROLL ON!!

Northwestward Ho

Our last day in Utah we drove to the other end of the park and looked over the lake at the campground, went disc golfing again,
(not me of course) I walked the trail to view ducks & turtles. That evening we watched the sunset over the truck and the moon rise over the mountains. Life is good!

Moved on to Nevada to spend 5 days in the 🏜.  Got to our free camping spot on the BLM land and were greeted by beautiful flowers.

This is the weirdest cactus ever. It looks like it rolled around in twine then grew prickly things! Very dangerous and beautiful.
Headed over to Valley of Fire State Park and thought a 1 mile hike would be for me. NOT! I almost died and there are signs that say you could die! I should have taken a picture if one so you would all believe me.  Anyhow the trails were all sand and if not, they were uneven rock! I hate walking in sand more than anything. Perhaps this is why we don't do the beach destinations.
I didn't die and enjoyed all the beautiful rocks! Again, pictures will never do justice for the desert.
Some people call these big horn sheep. Me, I call them long horn sheep!! Lots of them in the park but we didn't see the big curly Q ones.
This was the narrows.  A skinny trail with straight up walls of rock. I almost didn't fit through with my fat A$$. Just kidding! I fit but my a$$ is still fat. Don't good thing I don't have to look at it!
I could fit through this giant hole though. I didn't try just in case.

Headed into Vegas for Dick tournament.  Did a little gambling and drinking at brewery. Won nothing, drank too much.  Good thing he took 3rd place to recoup the money!!

Finished a wrap bracelet and make some dish rags and scrubs at the brewery while Dick played.  Gotta keep my hands busy or the glass will keep tipping into my mouth!!

Started another bracelet!!  It will most likely be done and posted at the end of this blog or somewhere in the middle!  I am a pretty fast beader.

This is a slow cooker!!

We stayed on BLM land outside of Vegas and although it we lovely it was windy.  We are not just talking a breeze.  This was blow your camper over wind!  We didn't blow over but we could have!!!

Tonopah was the town we were in.  We tooled around there for a bit and explored all the things.  So many small towns out here but most are abandoned.  Back in the day it was a huge mining gold rush.  I couldn't believe the amount of cool of building that were just left to rot.  We went to an old mining museum, did some disc golf (of course), went in a funky casino & passed by the creepiest Clown Mote.

T for Tonopah.  All the hills have letters on them for the Cities.  Guess if you are hiking and you think you are lost ,and come upon a giant letter on the mountain, you will know where you are!!

Not sure but I think the Market is inside this outhouse!!

Creepy doll with a tiny toilet and sink!!

Moving on!!  We headed out of Vegas for Carson City. We stayed a week at the Washoe Lake State Park in a site with no water or electric since it is a popular park at $10 a night and it was the only thing available without having to move around all week.  We hung out on the sunny days and had fires, drove to Virginia City, walked around the park every day, saw owls & it snowed on us.

Views from our campsite

Me enjoying Viv dip soaking up some sun!

There was a nice trail to the lake.  Lots of horse poop!  There are tons of wild horses here.

A picture of our camper from the lake.  Can you tell which one is ours!!?

Baby owls and momma watching over!

Here is one of the hundreds of wild houses.  Signs all over the roadways to watch out for these guys! Should have taken a picture of a herd instead of just this one.  Silly me.

The disc golf course was way better than we have been on of late.  There were elevation changes, views, and trees!!

Not the greatest picture but we are heading to Red Bluff spot 11 for our next adventure.  We will stay there for a month before heading into Oregon.   Some time to paint rocks and go off and explore northern California.

Virginia City is a Historical District so everything is as it was and forever will be.  Looking old and cool!!  The boardwalks were my favorite.  So very uneven and creeky.  You really have to watch your every step.

Back to camp getting ready for the snow.  A duck magically appeared in my cloud when I was taking the picture. Love these surprises when you look at pictures later.

Mountains in the back ground are all covered after a freak spring storm.

Such a pretty campsite.

This happened 15 years ago.  Popped up on My Facebook! We are in a much better place now don't you think!!

FREEZING disc golf for this tournament!  Mittens, neck gator, long pants and long sleeves.  It really has been a freezy week for us, but we survived.  No placement in this tournament but fun was had!!

Herd of wild horses.  It sure was fun seeing these every day!
Lots of horse apples to avoid while walking!

Hike to Falls

Not sure if you can see me on the trail.  I am that little dot in the middle of the page.  Thats how far behind Dick leaves me.  I could have fallen off the edge and he would just keep going. Or take pictures to show you how far ahead he is.

Priceless treasure found on our hike!

I believe this is an arrowhead made to kill a giant creature!!  It was most likely attached to a very large arrow back in the old days and was shot but missed the creature and landed here in the dirt millions of years ago.

We made it to the waterfall!! I was draped over these rocks just prior to this picture almost dead from the hike!!

I really was an easy walk an as you all know, I can be a bit dramatic.
Who doesn't love a good death story!!

One more day of R&R at Washoe Lake then packing up for California.  We should probably stock up on everything, because all is twice as much in California.

Finished Bracelet!  More adventures to come.  Stay tuned!!
