Adventure with us as we travel the country in search of history, great scenery, mass quantities of wild life, disc golf courses, microbreweries, fun people and some awesome campgrounds to park our home on wheels. We also hope to do a lot of dispersed camping in the Southwest as well. There will be sunny days and there will be cloudy days but a day without laughter is a day wasted!! ROLL ON!!

California is the place we auta be so we loaded up the truck and moved to .......

Leaving Nevada, we waved to this rock rodent and headed to California.

Forest fires are real and oh boy did we run into some burned out land. What a bummer seeing this, but it certainly makes to realize what a small spark can do!

Headed through some pretty big mountains along the way with lots of snow.  We saw a sign at the base of the hill that was flashing dangerous roads. We ignored it because we live for danger, or it was probably from a couple of days ago when there was a snowstorm.  Obviously, I would yell at Dick for looking at beauty because I didn't want to go over the side of the mountain.

It was a short 3-1/2 hour ride but it was super beautiful, and we made it safely on the dangerous road to Red Bluff where we got a really good monthly rate in a not touristy area for some rest and relaxation.

The town loves to paint but I only took a picture of this fine-looking derby winner from days gone by.  I think it was mummified and shipped to the west here so they could get in the Derby mood!

Yippy!!! Big trees!  Can't wait to see more as we travel later this month.

SO..... we went to a disc golf park that has this giant BBQ and some funky painted stumps, but they also had lots and lots of homeless people camping out.  Apparently, it is a park that is designated a safe place for homeless to camp without being removed.  That sounded a bit crazy to me, but it is California!!

Still so many peaks with tons of snow!

Just loved this tree trunk.  So much texture and visual interest!  Yea, I like weird nature!

Brewery sticker room is running out!!  Does this mean we have to stop traveling for beer.
😂😂😂😂 NOT!

Picked up a ton of rocks in Arizonia and thought I better paint them all in this month of down time and get rid of them or Dick will throw me out of the truck to counter the weight!!

RODEO!!! We never went to a rodeo so thought this would be an interesting thing to do!  These people really do almost die!!!  Scary noises came out of me while I watched.  So much fun though.

This may look like a fun little carriage ride, but it turned to HORROR quickly. Just google runaway stagecoach at the Redding Rodeo!  It was scary for me.  I can only imagine the guys inside and the guys on top.  I am sure the video won't show the whole thing, but it was something they will talk of for years.

Talent that is beyond scary!!  This is my kind of fast and furious!
Everyone lived!!

Just though you should see my daily lunch! Parm, pretzel dunked in cottage cheese and stuffed olives.  Lunch couldn't get any better!

Dick found this disc golf course that has a million weeds that stick to your shoes, shoelaces, skin and get in your shoes and poke the crap out of your feet.  I make him some gators and he was so happy he took pictures of himself posing with them.  It is the small things that make this guy happy.  Sometimes!!

There was a botanical garden at the park where the course was, and I walked this instead of getting poky things stuck on me.  Much better choice.  The gardens smelled amazing, and I only got a little wet while the sprinklers were keeping this beauty alive.  These white flowers look small, but they are amazing huge and there were hundreds.

More rock painting.  I made some campfire friends!

We drove about an hour to Chico and went to this hilly beautiful disc course then out for a couple beers at a few different breweries in the area.

Happy beer guy!!

The shells I had collected from South Padre Island while in Texas that I finally painted & will scatter here and there to make people wonder who does this crap!

Found this really green pinecone thing that was super sappy.  Probably should not have touched it.  Oh well, live and learn.

BIG TREE TIME!!  Amazed at the size of these redwoods.  We went to Jonh Muir park north of San Francisco.  I know this is not the best place to visit big trees but it satisfied me.  We had a great walk through the woods and then I ditched Dick about a third of the way on a trail that just didn't stop going up!!!  I found him an hour and a half later.   Thanks goodness because he had the keys to the truck and there is NO cell service in this park!

Me so happy to see big trees!

I am certain that crazy redwood creatures lurk in these tree caves.  They were big enough to stand in!!

As we left the park the park we were still in awe of the beauty all around.

We took a drive to San Francisco for a short weekend and had a great time seeing the sites.  We had our own personal tour guide and photographer.  Doesn't this sound hoity toity!   Dick has a friend in SF (yea they talk and write in code here) and David showed us around all the touristy highlights for two days.  We ate great food, saw great things, had great company and experienced the vast cultures of San Francisco.

The famous prison

Palace of Fine Arts was most impressive!!

Did you know it cost $10.00 to drive across this bridge.  What a racket!!

The windy, hilly street was fun!

Painted Ladies!  I had no idea that houses were called ladies.  I do not know the history of these Victorian homes, but apparently, they are a popular attraction.  We were just happy to go wherever out tour guide took us.

We drove north along the coast and saw many beautiful things.  I am sure Dicks favorite thing was getting David involved in Disc golf.

The coast along Hwy 1 is amazing.  At least the small part that we saw.  We will do more of it in Oregon!

On our way out of town we saw a million rice fields.  I had no idea they grew so much rice in the states.  Why ever would I believe that it all came from Asia??  I mean.....Rice a Roni, dah!!

That concludes our blog for now!!  Hope you enjoyed all the fine pictures and snarky commentary!  Below you will find the pictures David took of us.  I know that one of our daughters will be so thrilled there are no KNEES!!

One little street sign defines a whole neighborhood in San Francisco!  Crazy cool.

Our personal Photographer section.  Don't tell him I posted his work.  He really is a paid professional photographer, but we didn't pay him 🤔
