DND Road Trippin'

Adventure with us as we travel the country in search of history, great scenery, mass quantities of wild life, disc golf courses, microbreweries, fun people and some awesome campgrounds to park our home on wheels. We also hope to do a lot of dispersed camping in the Southwest as well. There will be sunny days and there will be cloudy days but a day without laughter is a day wasted!! ROLL ON!!

Still having fun

Well, I have been reminded again that I am slacking again in my retirement and not keeping you all posted that we are still alive and having fun!  For excitement I put magnets on some polished rocks for my refrigerator.  Isn't that most exciting news!!  Below is a picture of our new friend and neighbor Pam.  Some of you have met her already and we are lucky to have such a great neighbor.  She stays in the park year-round so she will watch over and care for our house while we are in Colorado.

Yes, Valentines is a long time ago, but I made Valentines for all my sweeties at the park.  A little fold here, a little fold there and Wah la, a heart that opens to a be my valentine message.

Another grill full of color!  I will never get sick of this look!

We hit up an old diner in town that has old cars outside that you can go in if you like but I just took a couple pictures. Fun place with an amazing menu of good stuff.  If you ever come to visit us, we will take you.

Dick found a kid to play with.  Where there are little kids you will find my big kid. This was a granddaughter of the Activity managers, and she was here for over a month, so Dick got his fill of play with games and swimming.  We have to borrow Grandkids because ours are too far away to play.   Hopefully we will get a chance to see them this year sometime.

Headed to the Wisconsin Party last month.  The new place has a party for just about everything.  I won a stained-glass cow which I will show you a picture of someday.  I packed it away until after I renovate and paint the new place.  The party was a potluck with lots of Wisconsin related give aways.  Green and gold everywhere.  I love the cow.  There were probably 80 people there from Wisconsin.

Glenn and Cathy  (Dicks Cousin and wife) came for their February visit and rented a great Airbnb and we had a great time with them exploring the desert. So very glad they love us enough to visit every year.

Visit to the nearest Mission was pretty awesome.  Such history and beauty.  Outside they have lot vendors making there version of Fry Bread.  I had one with cinnamon and sugar and Dick had one with taco stuffing.  We shared and both were delish.  The church was beautiful.  Very religious people here in the southwest.  There were candle shrines everywhere..

Can you spot the building in this picture.  I hardly saw this little hidden treasure.

Growing up I thought cacti were small.  Totally NOT the case out here.  I cannot believe the enormity of these things!  And I will never understand how they can live so long and live with little water and remain alive.

Took a trip to Tombstone with these guys and guess what I didn't almost die!!  They did!!

Dick was seeing if he could get taller than a 🌵.  Fail!

We stopped at another mission.  This one was a bit more run down and not in use any longer, but it was cool just the same.  There is a nice looking finger in the picture too!

The park we are working at had a poker run/social!  I cooked up some mini Matza sticks at our stop and people just couldn't get enough of these tasty fried morsels.  Fun was had and I cannot wait to host one of the sites for the pub crawl this month.  Irish soda bread, Guinness beer cheese dip, and homemade Baileys and bourbon Slush will be at our stop.   If you want in, it's at 1:00 on the 17th.  Day drinking all day after!!  8 stops and probably a lot of hung-over people on the 18th.

Yes this is what it looks like.

Dinos in the dessert.

More pool volleyball.  Dick thinks he is superhuman and that he doesn't need to stretch before exercise.  He walked around crooked for a week and a half after tweeking his back playing.  HA!

This is Me!!

We love custard!!  So much better than ice cream.

Not a real desert picture but colorful and it made me happy.

This also make me happy!!!

This is our route to Colorado if anyone wants to meet us along the way!!

I took a tiny class to make Mandalas and had fun.  I am sure I will paint a bunch and leave them laying around somewhere.  I have an old planter box I already painted all black and drew a bunch of circles on it to paint more.  They will all be different and it should turn out pretty good if I practice a bit.

All summer long I am going to make hats to donate to a group I am going to join called nimble fingers.  All these knitting and crocheting ladies get together once a week and make stuff to donate to different organizations around town.  I think both of our families probably do not need another knit thing and i have to keep busy so........

Well, I guess that is it for now.  Nothing to exciting these last months but still having fun!!
