Adventure with us as we travel the country in search of history, great scenery, mass quantities of wild life, disc golf courses, microbreweries, fun people and some awesome campgrounds to park our home on wheels. We also hope to do a lot of dispersed camping in the Southwest as well. There will be sunny days and there will be cloudy days but a day without laughter is a day wasted!! ROLL ON!!

March/April Adventures!

Happy Monday to you all.  By the time you realize I wrote a new blog it will most likely be another day.  One day is as good as the next to be happy so just smile today and be happy!!  As always, I keep busy knitting or doing some other crafty thing.  I was on a hat kick these last months and made a whole ton of them.  I nearly died trying to carry them to the donation center.   This is totally awesome because I gotta keep busy and I have to have a resource to get rid of it all or we would be stuffing it all in the ceiling for insulation from the heat!!

I make a pizza crust from spaghetti squash and guess what..... it was

DELICIOUS!!!!!

This is me in case you forgot what I looked like.  I got all my hair chopped off and am loving it!!

I did however somehow grow a red beard!!

At the place we volunteered all winter they had a Camper Crawl (in Irish terms, Pub Crawl)  Anybody could be a host and provide a bit of food and a bit of beverage.  20 minute stops so you don't need to supply a bunch. We make Irish Soda Bread, Guinness Beer cheese dip, Mini Chocolate eclairs' decorated all green and sprinkly, and for our beverage we made a whiskey slush and homemade Baileys!  YUM!!  There were 7 stops along the crawl and by the time we were done, nobody was feeling any pain.  A fun day to be sure!

Ice Cream anyone!!!  These are just to cute!  I have made these before and now I can make more to donate.  I just love these and the little octopus 🐙 that I make.  I always keep a few around because you never know when you are going to run into a kid.  Not often in these 55+ parks but someone always has grand kids coming to visit.  We sold our bed to a nice couple that was prego and and i gave her one for her future baby.

Back to beading. So I had this great idea to string up a bunch of beads to make a bead curtain.  What the heck was i thinking.  I think I may be getting more insane as I age!!  finished picture later and yes it was worth all the pain and swearing!!

This has got to be the worst name for a cookie business but the cookies were amazing. Not as good a homemade but good.  So many flavors of stuffing to pick from.  Dick and I went to sit in the desert for the airshow and who would have thunk that it was going to be hotter than hell out there!! DAH!  Well we wanted ice cream and my non Googler husband found this place thinking it was ice cream.  What about this name would make you think it is ice cream?  Pleasently surprised though

Rusty Metal will always be my go to picture.  Better yet recycled rusty metal art!!

I truly wonder how long these would last in the summer heat!

We found a beer fest we can volunteer at every year in Downtown Tucson.  We had to set up some easy-ups prior, get water & ice for the water station then wait around for the gates to open.  Dick was the ID checking banding boy and I handed out the taster glasses.  EASY Peezy!  Tickets were $55 each and we paid nothing!  Volunteering is the way to go for so many things. You get in free to the events and if not an event you help out others that are in need in some way.

I would totally get this tattoo!

When we bought the house there was this ugly sun damages big dice on a table.  I spiffed it up with some Old English tinted furniture polish and glued dimes in the holes.  Back in the day I had a dime bag.  Now I have a dime box! 😂

The finished bead curtain!!!  Yippy.  It is hanging in the long tiny shower window!  So sparkly in the sunshine.  This makes me happy to look at even if it was hell to make.

OH MY GOSH!  I have never seen such a large bunch of rosemary.  I will never run out!  I cut some of this done and made some rosemary water to put on a rash I got, and it worked like magic.  Itchy ash is gone.  I love the smell of rosemary and it is so good to cook with!  Most people here in the park have 🌵 cactus's and metal art. I will take this ever growing shrub above that any day.

Lets all go to the Zoo!!  The Reid Park Zoo here in Tucson has an art display that I just had to see.  Of course I love the real animals but these were amazing. Huichol Art is made by the indigenous Huichol people and these were beaded.  Hard to see but this is some pretty amazing, time consuming, & mind boggling work!!  SO awesome.

Us and a 🦒 giraffe!

Some of you may not get this but this is a push me pull you!!

I love the rotating displays at the zoos.  There is always something different to see.  I am sure we will go back numerous times during our winters here in Tucson.  Hopefully with some kids or grandkids that may visit.

Slow Body Beer!  What would a blog be without a brewery trip.  This place sure doesn't look great from the outside but the inside and the courtyard were awesome.  Good beer too!

That is a lot of ice!  One of our last jobs at Mission View was to de-ice the frigs and freezers.  This was just the frig.  We also had to clean the popcorn machine.  Love me some popcorn but this thing was a backed on grease mess.  Took a ton of elbow grease to get it shiny and new.

Disc golfing for Dick is always an adventure. He wasn't sure what this guy was towing but it was weird, so he took a picture!

Cleaning up the house to shut it down for the summer.  Thought you should know that I do still have to do some work!  Retirement isn't all fun and games!  But mostly it is!!

Went to the Pima County Fair with some friends and had a great time.  Ate some bad for you fair food and watched this one man show!  Laughed so hard I nearly peed my pants.  It was crazy.  He blue up a ball and got in it and did a whole bunch of funny stuff and so much more.  I am so glad we stopped to watch this one man wonder.

More rusty stuff, some pigs & camels! Great time for the fair before it gets to 115 degrees and the poo start to really stink!!

Loving life in Tucson.  Heading to Mexico tomorrow for Tequila to take to Colorado then packing up and leaving this state for the summer.  Will be back early October so plan your visits!! Got some windows and doors getting replaced and this is the most exciting part........I get to paint the walls!  I love to paint.

Until next time.....
