Adventure with us as we travel the country in search of history, great scenery, mass quantities of wild life, disc golf courses, microbreweries, fun people and some awesome campgrounds to park our home on wheels. We also hope to do a lot of dispersed camping in the Southwest as well. There will be sunny days and there will be cloudy days but a day without laughter is a day wasted!! ROLL ON!!

Picking up where I left off

Well it's been a while! Kansas seems like a life time ago but Halloween brought us back.  The theme was the Wizard of OZ but more on that at the end if this blog. Driving Kansas was super farmy! Piles of corn and crops everywhere! Gotta love those farmers. If not for farmers we would all be skinny!
We got outa dodge right quick when we saw this gang of hoodlum cowboys that were ready to spring on us at any given moment. I hear they rob RVers like trains and stage coaches. Stay far from Dodge and if you ever get here.... Get outa!!

We didn't get outa that quickly cause we needed to launder our prairie clothing, so we stayed at an old drive in that they built an RV park on.

This place had tge biggest scorpion 🦂  I have ever seen!!

We have been super lucky with out truck but had a bit of trouble along the way. Dick waited out tge repairs in thus luxurious desert waiting room while the truck was in this super fancy shop! This was a highly recommend place!!

Went up the hill to Cloudcroft, NM to golf
Dick really is in these picture some where. I dug around in a glass dump and found a cool piece of pottery that I made into a pendant. Maybe you will see it in a picture later in the blog!

Camped a week in Las Cruces and visited with friend. Always a fun stop on our way north or south. This was our view of a lovely wall while there. I know you are impressed with thus picture so just admit it.

I beaded a Halloween rock that I gave away as a door prize at Halloween bingo at our winter home.

This is our lovely site. Close to the club house for walking to work and the indoor pool! Yippy....swimming every day if we want!

I set up my little Clam screen tent for all my fun craft projects. I love my she shed!

Many rock pendant and many more done already to sell at craft fair in December at the park.

We were lifted the from sister in law Sheila!!   She knows her stuff! AMAZING STUFF! Gotta find more!! We will be on
the hunt but highly unlikely we will find in desert AZ.

Lovely plant everywhere.

ACTIVITY CALENDER As you may be able to see we don't have much to do. A week in the life of Dick and Dawn....
Monday 10am meeting 1 hour
Tuesday 11am Cornhole 1 hour (No one plays but we need to get stuff out just in case)
Wednesday- There is a BBQ every
Wednesday at 11 and we have to hang out and serve baked bean, some side salad and grill burger, brats, Italians and salmon.  BBQ last about an hour and then we clean up.  If we are assigned to cook the Thursday dinner, we have to plan and shop. Menu is all made out for the month so there is no surprise, and it is really easy stuff. We get to eat whatever for free!!
Thursday-If the assigned cooker needs help, we help to prep meal dinner is served at 4:30 followed by ice cream, followed by bingo and 50/50 sales. Another piece of cake day and we get to eat again for free!
Friday, Saturday and Sunday we have absolutely nothing to do unless there is a special event. which will probably be a super easy thing as well.
So probably 18 total hours of easy work a week.  Not bad for free site, free laundry, free food, free electric, free Wi-Fi with our own connection for streaming and use of the facility for all the fun.

Painted some rocks we picked up along the way to leave laying around.

When we got here, we took the truck into another shop equally as fancy as the last, but we had to leave it because it needed a bit more labor-intensive work.  Well.....it was in the shop for 2 weeks, so we ran our cupboards dry as well as the frig.  When we got it back guess where we went.  Grocery shopping and to a brewery.  There is a ton of breweries in Tucson, and we hit up two.  Life is back to normal.

Dick played in a disc golf tournament and won some joints!!  What a weird prize. Of course, he also walked away with money, discs and other stuff.

Playing cornhole by ourselves trying to get people out of their houses with the thunk thunk noise!

People getting ready for the event of the week. BINGO!  I get the impression that this is the only thing that gets people out of their easy chairs and to the clubhouse aside from the dinner and BBQ so my guess is that we are a bingo and food driven resort.  Sure makes our lives easier and we have more time for US!!

We have not dressed up for Halloween in years but were assigned the wicked witch and the tin my prior to even arrival.  We did have fun at the dance/band for the Halloween party and we volunteered to do the 50/50 cause we are not dancing people

.

Happy November!!!
