Adventure with us as we travel the country in search of history, great scenery, mass quantities of wild life, disc golf courses, microbreweries, fun people and some awesome campgrounds to park our home on wheels. We also hope to do a lot of dispersed camping in the Southwest as well. There will be sunny days and there will be cloudy days but a day without laughter is a day wasted!! ROLL ON!!

February 2023

A few adventures among the hub bub of ordinary life were had this month thus far. We had some visitors and are expecting more at the end of the month then more beginning of March.  So glad that people love us enough to visit!!

Dick and I went to a Pink Floyd tribute band.  Tribute band concerts are a plenty down here in the retirement communities.  Any band you can think of has had tribute performances here.  There are so many RV parks, and they all have entertainment committees, so whatever you want to see, all you have to do is follow the rv parks sites and they tell you when and where.  The one we happened to go to was at the old theatre downtown which also has a ton of cool shows throughout the winter season.

A walk in the park and apple pie pizza from a food truck is not a bad day.  We also had a regular pizza and if you know me....I love pizza!  It was the best pizza by far that we have had in Yuma, and we have had a lot!!

Dicks cousin Glenn and wife Cathy came to visit for a couple of days.  We have traveled with these guys before and fun is always had!! We headed to San Diego to spend a few nights at Ocean Beach.  The tide pools were awesome at low tide and the amount of people surfing the day away was amazing, high tide. There was an awesome farmers market on Wednesday night with so much food and people selling stuff.  This is a real free to be neighborhood and everyone was out to make a buck.  Tons of homeless people and the whole community was amazingly clean and safe. Love was in the air.  We had an amazing time, and the sunsets were beautiful.  We also went out on a whale watching tour.  There were lots of whales, but I didn't get any pictures.  I was leaning over the garbage can puking as I watched them surface and blow.  It was pretty cool.  We have done this whale watching in Massachusetts and in Alaska and were lucky enough to see more on this trip.  Dick got lots of pictures and videos, but I didn't want to bother him while he was napping to get them from him.

On to Mexico for one night!!  It was Glenns birthday so we thought he might enjoy staying in Mexico for the night.  The border town is bustling with vendors and lots of food choices.  The hotel we stayed at was super nice, and all for the low low price of $72 a night.  What a steal!

We were touristy on the way home and visited the old Yuma prision.  Pretty cool old place!

Glenn and Cathy rented a neat place in Somerton which is maybe 10 minutes from our home, and we spend some time there having a fire, a couple dinners, playing cards, doing laundry and watching the
Super Bowl.  Glenn got an awesome deal on these huge steaks, and we stuffed ourselves before the game and sat around in a food coma until after the game and went home.

To end it all we rented a desert vehicle and spent a couple hours in driving around.  What fun!  Everyone should do this once in their lifetime.  We had great fun but didn't see any rattle snake so I could not almost die.  The driving could have killed me, but I closed my eyeballs.  I know some of these pictures just look like sand, but we went to the valley of names and people spell out their names with stones and it is really pretty cool.  We went through the narrows and only scrapped the side of the vehicle one time.

Fun was had and I can not wait to vacation with these two again some time!!
